Planskydd is a deer repellent spray, and it also works for other animals such as elk, mouse and rabbits. The product works by omitting an odor that resembles predator activity. Therefore the deer that come near the odor will be repelled. Plantskydd is totally environmentally safe and the main ingredient inside it is pig blood which emits the odor of the predator activity to act as a deer repellent. The product should be sprayed on mulch surrounding your plants and can be sprayed on the plants themselves but it might discolor them. The Best Homemade Deer Repellent Ever!

Earlier I mentioned that a homemade deer repellent works in two ways: by odor or by taste. This concept can be taken further to be described as a direct repellent or an area wide repellent. Contact repellents are the taste types, the homemade deer repellent is directly applied to plants. When the deer comes, it will leave after tasting the plant.  The area wide homemade deer repellent works by odor, because the whole area gives off an odor the deer don't like.

So what is the best type of homemade deer repellent?

It is a mixture of whole eggs and water.  Basically, create a mixture of about 20-25% eggs and the rest should be water.  Put this in a spray container and spray it on and near the area of your plants.

You are going to have to reapply this homemade deer repellent every couple of weeks.  The egg based mixture does well even after a rainy day.  However, keep in mind that everyone's situation may be different.  In a place which is highly populated with deer (like in New Jersey where I live) you will have to use a combination of deer repellent methods.  Basically, you also need to experiment and find out what is working for you.
